Don Eladio Balili was a history teacher of Bohol National High School and a businessman of dried fish, lumber, furniture, transport, and construction. When he was neither teaching nor making money, he retreated to this incredibly beautiful villa that he had built for himself sometime before 1934 as a bachelor. He later on married Ms. Pancrasia "Caring" Castro. The house is now managed by their youngest child, Architect Gloria Balili-Katz.
