This, our largest bedroom, is located at a distance of around 50 metres from the main house, beyond the eastern terrace, and is one of the most compelling places to stay in Bentota. It was originally built as a cowshed in the 1970s but was later transformed into a gallery for Bawa to house his precious art collection.

Transom windows capture Bawa’s iconic play of light and shade throughout the day, and just outside the entrance is a private courtyard with weathered ochre walls and gothic flourishes.

At the very centre of the Gallery Studio Suite sits a four-poster king-sized bed dressed in crisp linen, which gazes beyond a glass wall into the generous courtyard. In the granite-floored bathroom are a traditional freestanding Victorian tub and separate rain shower.

This room feels private and secluded, and is a popular option for couples and honeymooners.

Instructions for early check-in or late check-out:
For guaranteed check in prior to 14:00 a reservation needs to be made from the previous day at the full night rate. For a late checkout till 18:00 a 50% charge of applicable daily rate applies. For check out after 18:00 a full night rate applies.

Important reminders:
• Driver accommodation is not available. We will provide details of local guest houses suitable for drivers and guides.
• Meal plan supplements – half board: supplement of US$30 per person for a 3 course dinner with house tea or coffee. Full Board: supplement of US$45 per person for a 3 course dinner and rice & curry lunch with house tea or coffee.
• One way airport transfer – pick up or drop off can be arranged and please contact us for rates. We require transfer timings at least 48 hours prior to arrival/departure. Due to the current situation and the sudden fluctuations in the price of fuel, the cost for airport transfers can change without prior notice.

Extra beds/person:
• Extra beds: one additional person can be accommodated with an extra bed in the Gallery Suite and the Ena House Master Suite only at a cost of US$50 per night for adult including breakfast. Extra bed for child (Including Breakfast) will be US$40 per night. (We offer a rollaway extra bed and only have limited number of beds available at the property. Hence, availability needs to be checked before confirming a rollaway bed to the clients

Child Policy:
• Child policy- Lunuganga only accommodates children under the age of 12 years, in the instance the guest/parent is willing to sign the child protection disclaimer. Children over 12 years will need to pay the full adult rate Children can be accommodated only on Cinnamon Hill, Gate House and No. 05 Lunuganga (Provided No.05 Lunuganga taken on exclusive use)

Cancelation and no show policy:
Groups (bookings): Any booking of 4 or more rooms on a particular night will be regarded as a group booking.
Cancelations or room count reductions 60 days prior to arrival will be charged full cancellation fee or the per night rate. Cancelations or room count reductions 90 days to 60 days prior to arrival will be charged 25% cancellation fee of the per night rate.

Cancellation policy FIT bookings:
• If cancelled 30 days or more prior to arrival – no charge – any payments made prior to this date will be reimbursed (less any bank charges)
• If cancelled 14 to 29 days (inclusive) prior to arrival – one night’s charge per room booked.
• If cancelled less than 14 days prior to arrival (14:00 local time) – full booking charge.
